A Fresh Name for a Regional Center with an Updated Mission
Kittanning, PA, July 18, 2018 – The Armstrong Center for Community Learning (ACCL) is changing the name of one of its long-standing programs. The Crooked Creek Environmental Learning Center will now be called the Outdoor Discovery Center at Crooked Creek or the ODC.
Changing the name is the most visible step in reorganizing the facility and programs offered there. In addition, the mission has been updated to affirm the ODC will, provide an engaging experience for natural discovery through education, recreation, and outreach.
“The center was in need of a rejuvenated mission and strategic plan. We have been operating for 15 years and the model we were working under was outdated. Through public comment sessions and feedback from strategic partners, the ACCL Board is excited about our future opportunities possible at the ODC. While a work in progress, these are big steps in the right direction” says Richard Muth, board president of the ACCL.
The ACCL board ask if you have any thoughts or ideas about programing for the ODC please contact Fred Orozco, ACCL Executive Director at (724) 543-2599 ext. 222 or by e-mail at email@example.com.
